Effective July 1st, 2017, a 0.50 percent district tax increase will be applied to the county of Los Angeles, including all cities and unincorporated areas. Measure M or “Los Angeles County Traffic Improvement Plan,” approved by California voters in November 2016, is the county’s comprehensive plan to improve transportation and ease traffic congestion.
We highly recommend that restaurant owners and operators set up reminders to update their POS systems to reflect the new sales tax rates as of July 1st. Please review the chart below for an overview of the changes.
