The Restaurants Care Resilience Fund added a special hardship grant to assist the restaurant community affected by the recent Hollywood strikes. The hardship grant provides $10,000 to independent restaurants, food trucks, or caterers located in Los Angeles County. Grants will be awarded to those who meet the criteria and with the focus of investing in the crews, who play a major role in holding a restaurant together and keeping it running. This grant will go towards employee payroll and retention to provide stability to our food community.
Los Angeles County restaurant owners with fewer than five units/concepts and under $3 million in revenue in 2022 (combined for all units) are eligible to apply. In addition, businesses must have been in operation since January 1, 2022, and should demonstrate at least a 10% revenue decline between May 2022 to August 2022, and May 2023 to August 2023. To date, 972 grants have been awarded to independent restaurant owners through the Resilience Fund.
Applications for the Restaurants Care Resilience Fund are open from September 8-22, 2023. Recipients will be announced on October 18, 2023. For more information on grants, eligibility criteria, and to complete the application, please visit www.restaurantscare.org/resilience.
